For the constitution to going into effect it need all 13 of the colonies to aprove of it. However the Constitution need 9 of the colonies to pass it. Each state except Rhode island held Consitional coventions to let the citzens eexpress their fellings about the Constitution. Many people did not aprove of the Constitution these people were called Antifedralists. People that did aprove of the Constitution were known as Federalists. This is in the order the states Ratified the Constitution.
